Class Available: Pre-Primary – Primary

Summary Course Description:

The course will help the young Children in developing an awareness of their own body and will teach them how to control their movements and gain a sense of creative presence. Through structurized session, the course is also a preparation for young children to understand the basic ballet vocabulary and exercises.

Style:

Based on basic classic training associated with games and stretching exercises for children.

Typical Class Structure:

Warm-up / simple dance sequences / stretch to warm down

Benefits:

Physical, mental development, improved coordination and concentration as well as introducing discipline into the children’s mind. This course is designed to introduce young children to the love of dance and music through the beauty of classical ballet and creative movement. The course is taught by qualified teachers to prepare the young student for more formal dance/movement classes. Focus is on enjoyment!

Ballet for children (RAD)

Summary Course Description:

The course will introduce students to the theatrical dance of Classical Ballet. Taught by professional dancers based on the syllabus of the Royal Academy of Dance (R.A.D.) in London, the course will teach ballet technique through the study of stylized movements and positions. This course provides a solid foundation for students who wish to continue their dancing ability to a higher level.

Style:

The course is based on the Royal Academy of Dance teaching method (British System) and is designed to systematically training students from a young age to a professional level. R.A.D. Dance Certificate examinations are held twice a year for children and major students.

Affiliations: Royal Academy of Dancing (RAD), Great Britain.

Classes:The entire course covers 12 years of study. Pre-Ballet classes are available for 4 year olds
- 4-6 years old attend once/week (1 hour)
- 6-9 years old attend twice/week (1 hour each)
- 10-12 years old attend three times/week (1.5 hours each)

Benefits:

Physical and mental development with improved flexibility, coordination and concentration. This course is taught by qualified teachers who can teach the student to be aware of their body to develop better poise and confidence, and to appreciate the art of dance.
Uniforms: For girls:

  • 4-6 years old: pink sleeveless leotard with chiffon skirt, pink socks; soft, satin pink ballet shoes.
  • 6-9 years old: pink sleeveless leotard, pink tights; soft satin/leather pink ballet shoes. Black character shoes and character skirt.
  • 10-12 years old: Blue sleeveless leotard, pink tights; soft satin/leather pink ballet shoes. Black character(high-heel) shoes and character skirt.

For boys:

  • 4-9 years old: white leotards, black shorts, white socks, white soft ballet shoes.
  • 10-12 years old: white leotards, black shorts or tights, white socks, white soft ballet shoes.

FAQ: How long would it take for my child to go on pointe shoes

According to the readiness of the student’s technique/physical body. (as muscles groups and the skeletal development varies in each individual.

Ballet Intermediate

  1. Intermediate Foundation
  2. Intermediate Advanced
  3. Foundation Advanced I

Course Requirement: At least 5 years trained in classical Ballet.

Typical Class Structure:

  • Barre- Centre
  • Port de bras
  • Adage- Pirouette
  • Allegro
  • Grand allegro – Pointe work

Style:Based on the British and Russian teaching methods.

Affiliations:The Royal Academy of Dance.

Classes:Students are recommended to attend class three to four times per week at this level. Discuss with the teacher for more information.

Benefits: Strengthening of the body, improved flexibility, co-ordination and concentration. The classes are designed for students who aim for professional level.

Uniforms:
For girls: Blue/black leotards- sleeveless or with spaghetti straps, pink tights, soft ballet shoes and pink Pointe shoes
For boys: white leotards, black/blue tights, white socks, white ballet shoes

Ballet Professional

  2. Solo Seal Awards
  3. Professional

Summary Course Description: This class is designed to train experienced students who wish to pursue their professional dance career and for professional dancers.

Typical Class Structure: Barre work and Centre work on pointe / classical ballet variations

Affiliations: The Royal Academy of Dance

Classes: Students are recommended to attend classes four to five times per week at this level. Discuss with the teacher administrator for more information.

Uniforms:
For girls:
Blue/black leotards- sleeveless or with spaghetti straps, pink tights, soft ballet shoes and pink Pointe shoes

For boys: white leotards, black/blue tights, white socks, white ballet shoes

Ballet for Adults

hobby course

Summary Course Description: A beginner’s course designed to introduce adults to the magical world of classical Ballet, Haven’t you always wanted to be a ballet dancer? Now is your chance! The course is designed to help adult to improve their physiques and postures through the very basics of classical ballet exercises.
Style: Based on the British and Russian teaching methods.

Classes: Scheduled once / twice per week, of one-and-a-half hour duration.

Benefits: Strengthening of the body, improved flexibility, co-ordination and concentration. The classes are designed purely for the students enjoyment, whatever their level as well as enhancing their understanding of performing arts.

Uniforms:
